Our Services and Pricing

Written Translations

All translations services use the same methodology for determining the cost of translating a document.  Three factors determine the cost of translating a document.  The first factor is the language pair, which is a way of saying "from which source language to what target language".  The more rare a language pair, the more a document will cost because we must match the project with a translator possessing the necessary skills and vocabulary.  For example, an English to Spanish translation would be less expensive than a Swahili to Greek translation.  Whatever the language pair you require, we have a translator ready to start your project.

The second factor in determining cost is the degree of technical knowledge and vocabulary required for a document.  The three common levels of technical specificity are:  everyday language, semi-technical language, and technical language with increasing cost as the vocabulary required increases in complexity.  Our translators have the educational/industry background for every level of technical vocabulary.

The final factor in project cost is the word count of the translated document.  The best quantitative method is setting a price per word of the final translation into the target language.it doesn't make sense to charge per page because of font size variability.  Nor does it make sense to charge by the hour for translating a document.  You expect and we deliver an accurate translation of your document.

For written translations, we follow a set procedure so that the client has a projected cost and estimated completion date before we start any project.  We receive the document and determine the language pair, technical vocabulary specificity, and an approximate target word count for the final translated document.  Note that we cannot give an exact word count until the project is completed.  Some languages are less "wordy" than others just based on their sentence structure.  For example, a document translated from English to Russian would have a much lower word count than a document translated from English to German.  With larger projects, we can negotiate a lower rate per word.

Our bid on the project will be formalized with a written proposal.  Our proposal is then verified and accepted by the client with the use of our "Specification of Services" form.  This document will specify the estimated completion date and cost.  This signed aggreement must be returned to Translations Unlimited, Inc. by the person / agency requesting our services before the project is entered into our docket and initiated.

On-site Interpreters Available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week

As the increasingly global economy reaches everyone, including the small business owner, it does not make sense to discount the possibility of having a client who is not fluent in English.  All of our interpreters are native speakers who are aware of the cultural nuances that accompany their language.  It may seem like a thoughtful and courteous plan to try to memorize a few phrases to connect with your non-English speaking client or customer.  At best, you'll impress your client with your honest  attempt to bridge the communications gap.  Then what?  You may stray into an area in which your posture, physical gestures, or even eye contact may inadvertently cause offense, embarrassment, or even anger.  You do not want to risk the reputation of your company by using a phrase book or hastily memorized text.

Our on-site interpreters can skillfully convey your message and the response of your clients so that you have almost seamless communication.  Additionally, the fact that you have contracted someone who has a common culture with the client will help ease the tension and is indicative of your respect and consideration for the client.
